12:00 Noon CST Oklahoma Weather Update (12/25/2012)


A winter storm continues to move east across Oklahoma and western North Texas. Through 2 pm CST, snow and blowing snow is expected across much of western and central Oklahoma and western North Texas with accumulations of 1 to 3 inches.

With strong winds gusting up to 45 mph, blizzard conditions are possible across portions of western Oklahoma and western North Texas including Weatherford, Ardmore, Wichita Falls, and Altus. There 2 to 6 inches of snow with locally 8 inches and snowfall rates of 1 to 1.5 inches of snow per hour is likely.
Rain and freezing rain will continue to fall east of a line from Marietta to Stratford, eventually transitioning to snow in those areas.
