5:00 PM CDT Oklahoma Weather Update (7/19/2012)

At 5 PM, thunderstorms extended along a line from Bartlesville, to just north of Ponca City, to near Medford, and on northwest into Kansas. The storms were moving south at about 20 mph. About 30 to 45 minutes of moderate to heavy rain and gusty winds will accompany these storms. Temperature drops of more than 20 degrees will also occur under the storms. The storms are expected to begin to diminish toward sunset. Elsewhere in Oklahoma and North Texas, very hot conditions will continue. Temperatures away from the thunderstorms will fall slowly this evening.
