1145 AM CDT Oklahoma Severe Weather Update 4/14/2012)

Scattered storms have developed across parts of the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles, and southwest Kansas early today. Some of these storms have become severe over the last couple of hours. Additional storms may form further south and move into northwest Oklahoma through 2 PM. Any storm that develops will have the potential to rapidly become severe with very large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes. Additional development is expected late this afternoon across western Oklahoma. With a very favorable environment for severe weather. any storm that can persist this afternoon will be capable of producing strong tornadoes, destructive hail to baseball size, and winds of 70 to 80 mph.
