730 PM CDT Oklahoma Severe Weather Update (4/9/2012)

Through 8 PM, severe thunderstorms, most producing large damaging hail and damaging wind gusts…will continue to affect western Oklahoma and parts of western North Texas. Although there has been one storm that produced numerous tornadoes…the threat for organized tornadic activity appears to be decreasing. The strongest storms through 8 PM will move from near Vici and Camargo down toward Leedey and Clinton. Also, severe storms near and west of Hollis will affect areas around El Dorado, Quanah, and Vernon. As storms approach your area, move to the interior portion of your home or business on the lowest floor. Stay away from windows, as there have been injuries due to very large hail breaking windows and causing injuries. The storms will continue to move south and east through the evening hours.
