Scattered showers have developed across parts of western North Texas late this afternoon in a very moist environment. At 4 PM, the heavier showers were confined to Archer and Clay counties, generally south of Wichita Falls. Showers and a few thunderstorms will continue to develop and move northeast at around 40 mph this evening. Additional development is expected across southern Oklahoma in the next few hours. While storms will remain well below severe levels, the stronger cells will be capable of producing gusty winds, frequent lightning, and locally heavy downpours.
