Wind Advisory for Oklahoma City Through 7 pm Tonight (3/6/2012)


The wind advisory is now in effect until 7 pm cst this evening.

Winds: 25 to 35 mph with gusts over 40 mph. The windiest conditions will be in the afternoon from southwest Oklahoma through central and north-central Oklahoma.

Impacts: Winds will be strong enough to make travel hazardous, especially for lightweight and high-profile vehicles on west to east oriented roadways. Keep both hands on the wheel and be prepared for sudden gusts.

Precautionary/preparedness actions: Be careful if you have to travel or if you are working or playing outside. Secure trash cans and other light-weight objects that may be tossed around by the strong winds.
