Wind speeds will continue to decrease over the next few hours as a cold front moves across the region. A cold front extended across central Oklahoma early this evening. This front will continue to move east across the region. Ahead of the front winds were from the southwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to near 30 mph. Winds will then shift to the west-northwest and northwest after the front passes with wind speeds ranging from 20 to 35 mph with gusts over 40 mph in some locations. However, overall the wind speeds and gusts have already diminished some from what was occurring a few hours ago. The trend of decreasing wind speeds will continue through mid-evening but winds may still remain gusty throughout most of the evening hours. An area of rain shower will also continue to move east across northern Oklahoma this evening. These showers will produce only light rain amounts of a few hundredths of an inch or less per hour.
