7 PM CT Oklahoma Weather Update (1/11/2012

An area of flurries and light snow will move east across northern Oklahoma this evening. The highest chance for snow will be across north central Oklahoma from Kingfisher to Enid to Blackwell and areas to the east. Although some areas in north central Oklahoma may receive a light dusting of snow on grassy surfaces, any accumulation will be very light and no significant travel problems are expected. Slightly farther east, from Osage and Pawnee counties and into northeast Oklahoma… accumulations of around one half of an inch may occur. The snow will diminish across the area after midnight. Meanwhile, gusty winds will persist this evening with wind gusts over 40 mph likely across portions of central and southwest Oklahoma and western North Texas. The winds will also decrease somewhat late this evening or after midnight.
