A large area of rain with embedded isolated thunderstorms will continue across much of North Texas today. The northern edge of the precipitation will approach the Red River and will likely produce light rain from near Archer City, Wichita Falls and Henrietta Texas east to Marietta and Durant Oklahoma this afternoon. Rainfall amounts will continue to be fairly light, and the rain will make only slow progress to the north during the day. The rain is expected to make more northward progress overnight tonight into Tuesday as the storm system responsible for the rain move east across Texas. Otherwise, temperatures this afternoon will struggle to climb out of the 40s with widespread cloud cover across central and southern Oklahoma and North Texas. A few locations across northern and eastern portions of the state, which will see more sunshine, may climb into the lower to middle 50s for afternoon highs.
