In the wake of a fast moving cold front, strong gusty northwest winds will continue into the late evening hours. Shortly after 8 PM, the cold front was quickly approaching an Atoka to Durant line. Generally light southwest winds across southeast Oklahoma will be replaced by gusty northwest winds. Strong wind gusts of 45 to 50 mph will continue for another few hours across western Oklahoma before diminishing into the overnight hours. Temperatures will fall into the upper 30s across northwest Oklahoma by midnight with temperatures mainly in the 40s elsewhere. The gusty winds will add a chill to the air however.
