545 PM CT Oklahoma Weather Update (12/19/2011)

Showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue to move across portions of Oklahoma and North Texas early this evening. The heaviest precipitation will be east of a line from Alva to El Reno to Waurika Oklahoma, although light to moderate rain will still be possible farther west. Another area of showers and thunderstorms in the Texas Panhandle will move toward west central and northwest Oklahoma early this evening. Farther northwest, temperatures have become cold enough for snow across areas near and west of a line from Greensburg Kansas to Beaver Oklahoma to Borger Texas to west of Amarillo Texas. Some sleet may also be occurring near this area. Colder temperatures will slowly move into the northwest corner of the body of Oklahoma which may allow the rain to mix with or change to snow and/or sleet across portions of Harper and Ellis counties before 8 PM. The precipitation will remain as rain farther southeast through the early evening hours.
