Freeze Watch in Effect for Oklahoma City for Thursday Night & Friday Morning (11/2/11)

…Freeze watch in effect from Thursday evening through Friday morning…

The National Weather Service in Norman has now issued a freeze watch, which is in effect from Thursday evening through Friday morning.

* Temperature range: Low 20s in northern Oklahoma, mid to upper 20s in central Oklahoma, upper 20s to lower 30s in southern Oklahoma.

* Impacts: On Friday morning, freezing temperatures may kill outdoor plants and could cause damage to sprinkler systems or outdoor faucets that have not been winterized yet.

* Precautionary/preparedness actions: Think about how you will protect sensitive plants from the cold. This will be a killing freeze for most areas in the northern two-thirds of Oklahoma, especially north of highway 19 in central/southern Oklahoma.
