This afternoon an upper level disturbance was marked by an increase of high cloud cover in the northern half of Oklahoma…while humid and increasingly unstable air was marked by low cloud development in the southern half of Oklahoma. The disturbance will move southeast across the state this evening…resulting in strong thunderstorms. The first storms are expected to develop between 4 and 7 PM in central Oklahoma. Storms will then move southeast during the evening…and may back-build to near Lawton and Henrietta Texas. Some of the storms are expected to be severe…so you are encouraged to monitor weather information…especially if you are planning to travel or spend time outdoors.
