1130 AM Oklahoma Weather Update (5/12/2011)

This morning a slow moving cold front extended from Lubbock to Vernon Texas…up to Frederick…Weatherford…and Medford in Oklahoma. Gulf moisture and recent rains supported low cloud and fog development near and east of the cold front. Visibility had improved to between 2 and 5 miles at most locations…and the low clouds will gradually break up this morning. By 1 PM…the front will extend from Stillwater to Norman to just west of Healdton. Conditions will be dry and warm west of the front…and warm and humid to the east. 7strong thunderstorms are expected to either move up into eastern Oklahoma from Texas this afternoon…or to develop along the cold front. There will be a risk of severe weather…especially in southern and eastern Oklahoma.
