Through 2 PM… a large cluster of showers and thunderstorms will persists across the central third of Oklahoma and parts of western North Texas…as an upper level disturbance moves northeast across the region. This activity will continue to spread eastward with additional development over the next couple of hours. While most of the activity is expected to remain below severe criteria…some of the stronger storms could produce marginally severe hail and gusty winds. The greater severe threat is expected to unfold this afternoon into this evening…as the cluster of storms moves into an area of greater instability to the east. Large hail and strong winds will be the main concern with any severe storms. You are encouraged to review your severe weather safety plan and stay on top of weather information throughout the day.
