PDS Tornado Watch 235 in Effect for Parts of Georgia, Mississippi & Tennessee and Most of Alabama


A PDS (particularly dangerous situation) Tornado Watch is in effect for most of Alabama, southeastern Mississippi, northwestern Georgia and southern Tennessee until 10:00 pm CT/11:00 pm ET tonight. This is setting up for a classic situation for long-track, violent tornadoes with destructive straight-line winds & huge hail. Some reports out of Batesville, Mississippi of grapefruit sized hail already this afternoon. Here is the statement from Storm Prediction Center on this life-threatening situation.

TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

MUCH OF ALABAMA
NORTHWEST GEORGIA
SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI
SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE

EFFECTIVE THIS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 145 PM UNTIL
1000 PM CDT.

DESTRUCTIVE TORNADOES…LARGE HAIL TO 4 INCHES IN DIAMETER…
THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 80 MPH…AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE

MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 45 MILES NORTHEAST OF
