Severe Thunderstorm Watch 194 in Effect in Oklahoma South & East of I-44 Until 9 PM CT


A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Oklahoma in areas along and east and south of I-44 until 9:00 pm. Large hail & damaging hail is the main concern. Also, heavy rain is getting to be a concern as some areas are closing in on 3 inches of rain with 1.5 inches so far in eastern Oklahoma City. Stillwater, Perkins, Shawnee all over 2 inches. THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA
SMALL PART OF WESTERN NORTH TEXAS

EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 230 PM UNTIL 900
PM CDT.

HAIL TO 3 INCHES IN DIAMETER…THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
MPH…AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 55
STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 55 MILES WEST OF
ARDMORE OKLAHOMA TO 20 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF POTEAU OKLAHOMA.
