8 am Nowcast for Oklahoma: Cold Front Progressing Southeast

A cold front continues its march through Oklahoma this morning. Once the cold front comes through any location, the rain chances vanished. Can’t rule out a sprinkle later this morning as the front passes Oklahoma City or the I-44 corridor, but any storms that form will be this afternoon and that will be southeast of an Ardmore to Centrahoma to McAlester to Stilwell line. Those storms this afternoon will be severe.

Now the 8 am Nowcast:

A strong cold front will move southeastward into central and southwestern Oklahoma by mid morning. The front will reach the Altus… Fort Cobb… Edmond… and Stillwater areas by around 9 am. Winds will shift quickly to the northwest at 15 to 25 mph behind the front… gusting to between 30 and 40 mph… and temperatures will fall quickly into the 60s and 50s.
