Red Flag Fire Warnings for Oklahoma City Today


… Red flag warning in effect from 11 am this morning to 8 PM CDT this evening for all of western North Texas and most of western and central Oklahoma…

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a red flag warning… which is in effect from 11 am this morning to 8 PM CDT this evening for western North Texas and all of western and central Oklahoma. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Winds… south to southwest 15 to 30 mph with higher gusts.
* Humidity… 12 to 20 percent.
* Temperatures… low 80s east and north… to low 90s southwest.
* Impacts… any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
* Wildfire potential remain very high to extreme on Monday and Tuesday. Additional fire weather headlines will likely be
issued on both days for parts of the area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions: Fires may start easily and spread rapidly. Report smoke or fire
to your local Fire Department. Monitor for further updates and
possible fire weather watches or red flag warnings on Monday and
Tuesday.
