Strong winds are affecting western North Texas…western and central Oklahoma this morning. Through noon…winds in central Oklahoma will be from the northwest at speeds from 25 to 35 mph with gusts to around 45 mph. In western Oklahoma and western North Texas…winds will blow from the northwest at speeds from 35 to 45 mph…with frequent gusts over 50 mph. Occasional gusts to 60 mph will be measured. Drivers along east to west oriented roadways in western Oklahoma and western North Texas should be prepared for very strong Crosswinds. Those traveling by motorcycle or driving high profile vehicles along Interstate 40 in western Oklahoma should be aware that wind gusts of this magnitude will make travel difficult and dangerous. Some light rain will occur in northern and north central Oklahoma this morning. Otherwise…the sky will be clear in western North Texas and portions of southern Oklahoma…and will be cloudy elsewhere. Temperatures will rise into the 50s in northern Oklahoma…and the 60s in southern Oklahoma and western North Texas…by noon.
