Fire Weather Watch Now Issued for Oklahoma City for Sunday/Sunday Evening


Fire Weather Watch is now in effect from Sunday morning through Sunday evening for much of Oklahoma:

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Fire Weather Watch, which is in effect from Sunday morning through Sunday evening. The adverse weather conditions will begin earlier in the day in western Oklahoma and later in central and eastern Oklahoma.

The Set-Up:
* Wind: 20 to 35 mph, with stronger gusts potentially to 50 mph.
* Humidity: 10 to 20 percent.
* Temperature: Upper 70s to mid 80s.
* Impacts: Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions: Monitor weather forecasts and information.
