Fire Weather Watches for Southwest & Eastern Oklahoma for Tuesday


Fire weather watches are in effect for portions of Oklahoma. Here are the bulletins.

Southwest & Western Oklahoma:
Fire Weather Watch remains in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening for western Oklahoma and western North Texas…

* wind… southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts around 30 mph.
* Humidity… 10 to 20 percent.
* Temperature… mid to upper 70s.
* Impacts… any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

… Fire Weather Watch in effect from Tuesday afternoon through
Tuesday evening…

The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a Fire Weather Watch… which is in effect Tuesday afternoon and early evening.

For the following counties in Oklahoma: Pushmataha… Choctaw… Osage… Washington… Nowata… Pawnee… Tulsa… Rogers… Creek… Okfuskee… Okmulgee… Wagoner… Muskogee… McIntosh… Pittsburg… Haskell and Latimer.

South winds from 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts are expected Tuesday afternoon over eastern Oklahoma. In addition… minimum relative humidities are forecast to drop to near 20 percent. This could potentially create near critical fire weather conditions… which would favor rapid fire growth.

Precautionary/preparedness actions: A Fire Weather Watch is issued when the potential for red flag
fire weather conditions are expected within the next 12 to 96
hours.
