Wind Advisory in effect until 1 PM CDT Monday for Oklahoma City

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Wind
Advisory… which is in effect until 1 PM CDT Monday.

Timing: Strong south and southwest winds will increase through
the day across Oklahoma and western North Texas. A cold front
will move through the region this evening and overnight and turn
the winds to northerly. The strong northerly winds are expected
to decrease by Monday afternoon.

Winds: South to southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts well
over 40 mph will be seen at many locations through early this
evening. The wind will be stronger across far western Oklahoma
and western North Texas behind a dryline. Also… winds will be a
little weaker over south-central and southeast Oklahoma… but
will still create adverse impacts. Equally strong northerly
winds will be seen behind a cold front that will move through
the region this evening and overnight.

Impacts: Travel of light weight and high profile vehicles could
be difficult. Travel of motorcyclists could also be difficult.
Outdoor objects such as patio furniture and trash cans may be
blown around.

Precautionary/preparedness actions: Be careful if you have to travel or if you are working or playing
outside.
