11:45 PM Nowcast for Oklahoma City


AT 1145 PM, A STRONG COLD FRONT EXTENDED FROM NEAR CUSHING TO
EDMOND AND MUSTANG TO SOUTH OF HOBART TO ALTUS OKLAHOMA. THE
COLD FRONT WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE SOUTH OVERNIGHT. THE FRONT IS
EXPECTED TO EXTEND FROM NEAR CROWELL AND VERNON TEXAS TO NEAR
FREDERICK AND LAWTON. TO PURCELL AND SHAWNEE OKLAHOMA BY 1 AM.
WINDS WILL SHIFT TO THE NORTH AND NORTHWEST BEHIND THE FRONT WITH
WIND SPEEDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 55 MPH POSSIBLE.
TEMPERATURES WILL ALSO QUICKLY DROP 10 TO 15 DEGREES IN AN HOUR
AFTER THE FRONTAL PASSAGE.

THUNDERSTORMS MAY BUILD SOUTHWESTWARD ALONG THE COLD FRONT IN
PARTS OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA OVERNIGHT. SOME OF THESE
STORMS MAY BECOME SEVERE PRODUCING LARGE HAIL AND STRONG
STRAIGHT-LINE WINDS.

AHEAD OF THE FRONT, SOUTH TO WEST WINDS WILL OCCUR WITH WIND
SPEEDS RANGING FROM 15 TO 25 MPH WITH SOME GUSTS ABOVE 30 MPH.
