Tornado outbreak in Arizona (10/6/2010)

How often do you hear this sentence? The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a tornado warning for Coconino County, Arizona including the immediate Flagstaff metro! You don’t normally. Today, it’s been a re-incurring scene.

Roughly between 7 and 8 am MST this morning, the first warnings for tornadoes came out northwest of Sedona, Arizona & just west of Flagstaff, Arizona. A confirmed EF-1 tornado hit the small town of Bellemont, Arizona. 7 people were confirmed injuries. Houses & RV’s destroyed.

This is a current & developing weather situation. At the time of this post, several tornado warnings were in effect for northern Arizona & southern Utah. A tornado watch is also in effect.

Stay tuned to http://twitter.com/OKCStormwatcher for the latest updates & info. As soon as warnings are issued, I will post them!! StormWatcher radar keeps showing multiple areas of rotating supercells in the aforementioned tornado watch box. I will update and post new blogs later today.

Be safe & weather aware!
